Cristiano Ronaldo: Ballon D’or Awardee and Unicef Supporter

Cristiano Ronaldo, one of Manchester United’s star players, received the highest award in sports – the Ballon d’Or. The awards ceremony recently took place in Paris, France. Cristiano Ronaldo, who has achieved a Premier League and Champions League double, has scored forty-two goals for Manchester United. Cristiano revealed to the press that, “I never said that I was the best player in the world. I always said that I was well-placed to win the Ballon d’Or.”

He added, “I have always had a lot of respect for the other players. It is not necessary to say who is the best player in the world, but who has an advantage, and I was carried along by this hope. All the players nominated had the possibility of winning this prize. Me, I have had this possibility and this privilege, but all the nominees had the qualities to win the award.”

However, Cristiano has more than football on his mind. Along with his Manchester United teammates, he showed support for UNICEF in the recent UNICEF Gala held in Manchester, England. The UNICEF Gala was held in the Old Trafford home. While Cristiano was in Old Trafford, he went to look at Manchester United playing in the Carling Cup. Sources have revealed that Cristiano may be trying to work out a better deal with his team. A representative for Cristiano said, “It is normal, that a footballer wants a deal to go with his status and one that matches his performances on the field. But nobody has prepared anything concrete. We want to avoid all these rumors in the press and will have contact with United. We do predict a meeting with Manchester United to speak about the future of Ronaldo, but still there is not an exact date.”

Cristiano must be hard at work preparing for his team’s upcoming match against Brazil, where he’ll be facing football sensation Kaka. Regarding the match, Kaka said, “The match is important for me because we’ll play at a stadium that’s a few paces from where I was born. And I want to make all Brazilian people happy and beat Cristiano, who will deservedly win the Ballon d’Or.”

    They have to. They can't stay inflated in the altitude as they get higher. They would probably pop and then all the little pieces would land some where in the ocean and a fish would eat it and die. So don't let go of your balloons.

    while watching this video, i knew when it was over i was gonna scroll down and see comments that either blatantly or subliminally suggested that the dog was in danger or it was some how inhumane towards dogs.

  16. Emily B Says:

    Net force upward is 103N-4.7kg*9.8= 56.95N
    Ignoring increasing drag with speed
    F=MA, so A = F/M = 56.95/5.7 = 10 m/s^2 (rounded slightly)
    for 10 seconds yields velocity of 100 m/s
    force after release is the weight 4.7*9.8 = 46.06N

    It's absolutely normal to me! I H A T E balloons! It's the pop I'm waiting for. There is always some idiot who squashes it or hits it with something sharp. BOOM!!! It's horrible.

    Geez, people who are suggesting therapy, do you have to see a doctor about everything these days? It's not like the asker is training to be a circus clown….or are you? If you are, then yes, see a doctor to get over this. If not, just stay away from balloons! I've been doing it for 42 years and so far my quality of life hasn't suffered much!
